Many people found themselves trapped in their homes for the foreseeable future. It’s easy to stay at home if you’ve got something to do. You can work from home, and it’s a good thing that keeps you busy. You can also stay occupied by working out.

These two can get pretty boring pretty fast, though, if it’s all you ever do. It can get repetitive. You could take a quick ride to the lighting equipment store, though, to check if there’s something you can do at home. If you want to really do something and keep yourself really busy, you could continue to keep working at your home on a project. This project requires you to think of ways to make your home feel like a vacation spot.

During this time, when you can’t leave your home, it’s important to know how you can feel relaxed and stress-free as if you’re on a real vacation. Recreate that experience you have on the beach or in that cabin through these useful tips.

Recreating That Beach House Experience

If you’re stuck at home, you can still bring along that beach experience. There’s nothing like lounging on the beach and feeling the fresh air and sea breeze on your face. With a few accessories, you can at least make your home feel like that minus the sea breeze, perhaps.

Some lamps can help you feel like you’re under the sunlight without the pain of sunburn or the danger of overexposure to UV rays. It can also help lift your mood, especially during winter, when days can become dark and staying in the home can feel depressing.

You could combine it with a tropical-scented oil. A combination of this could give you better sleep, which you’ll really need if you’re working at home.

Turning your Home into a Nice, Cozy Cabin

Another way to make your home feel like a nice, cozy cabin is to bring some equipment that mimics that feeling. A heated blanket during the winter is a good touch; it can also make you think twice about ever leaving that couch if only to brew your favorite coffee or heat your favorite cocoa.

Speaking of coffee, there are programmable coffee makers available on the market today that can help you set your time of brewing. There’s nothing in there that says you can bring that coffee to bed automatically. However, if you want to have coffee the moment you wake up, this is the next best thing.

The Spa Experience at Home

Spa Experience at Home

This is especially helpful during the winter, but there’s nothing that suggests you can’t do it during spring or summer. If you want to experience the spa treatment even when you can’t leave home, you could buy an inflatable hot tub.

It’s a nice way to relax after a long, hard day’s work, even if you’re doing it remotely. If you want to just take a bath, it’s also perfect. You could go and have a nice bath pillow along with a tray and salts delivered to your home. Top it all off with a scented candle of your favorite aroma.

Bring the Hotel Experience To your Home

There isn’t a rule saying that you can’t design your home to look like your favorite hotel or home stay from out of town. It’s also a way where you can get busy and distract yourself from always checking on the news about the virus.

Consider placing a vase of flowers in the foyer, aside from wearing your favorite bathrobe from time to time. There’s a reason why flowers are always in a room at hotels, and why bathrobes make you feel like you’re on vacation. Change your sheets too, if you can, to keep yourself feeling as if you’ve left home for some ritzy destination elsewhere.

Mimic the Experience with Home Amenities

If you still aren’t feeling like you’re in a staycation just yet, take a look at what you have at home to help you. A kiddie pool is useful as a make-shift spa or sauna pool. You can also listen to your favorite tunes while learning to cook something you’d only usually encounter while on vacation.

Even if only for a day, you can hire a crew to clean your home — following the regular safety protocols during this time, of course. If you want, you could have the kids cleaning the house. It would be money well-spent.

If you’re stressing out and feeling like you need a vacation, maybe you can make every day at home feel like a vacation. There’s nothing stopping you, and the sky’s the limit when you use your imagination too.
